Het artikel laat zien hoe belangrijk het is dat asielzoekers activiteiten kunnen ontplooien, en beschrijft de mogelijkheden voor opvang, begeleiding en activering van ongedocumenteerden.

Het artikel eindigt als volgt: ‘As activation will have a positive effect on the physical and mental well-being of rejected asylum seekers and will decrease the risk of exploitation of irregular immigrants who often find themselves in a vulnerable position, from a humanitarian perspective the Dutch government would be wise to change perspective also for this group of immigrants.’
